Cisco Acquires Social Networking Company

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO), whose core business is selling the routers and switches that direct data traffic over computer networks, said it has acquired a small social networking company that allows businesses to create MySpace-like communities on their Web sites.


Cisco said Friday that it was paying an undisclosed amount to acquire privately held Five Across Inc., an 11-person San Francisco company whose software allows companies to add user-interaction functions and multimedia-sharing capabilities to their Web sites.


Five Across' publishing platform allows users to create personal Web pages and post photos, videos and audio clips, much like the proprietary system used by News Corp. (NWS)'s MySpace.
Cisco said the acquisition, its 116th since 1993, is the company's first in the social networking space but likely not the last. The deal is expected to close within the current fiscal quarter.
Analysts said the acquisition helps further Cisco's expansion beyond its role as purely a network equipment provider and into helping distribute the media that drives bandwidth consumption and even more network upgrades.


Danielle Levitas, a senior analyst at market researcher IDC, said the Five Across acquisition could help Cisco win greater access to a wide range of companies, particularly those in media and entertainment, looking to upgrade their Web sites to connect with customers.
"I actually see this as benefiting their core business - if they can promote users using their broadband more, that's huge for them," Levitas said.


Cisco has profited mightily in recent quarters from surging sales of its routers and switches as service providers and other companies scramble to upgrade their networks to prepare for the next generation of video and other bandwidth-intensive downloads.
Cisco, which was sitting on nearly $21 billion in cash at the end of the second quarter, has been rapidly expanding by acquiring companies that capitalize on the products and services that utilize the network itself.


The company's largest recent acquisition was its $6.9 billion purchase last year of Scientific-Atlanta Inc., the world's second-largest cable television box seller.
Last month, Cisco also announced it was paying $830 million in cash and stock to acquire IronPort Systems Inc., a maker of anti-spam and antivirus security products. That deal is also expected to close in the current quarter.


Investors have cheered the San Jose-based company's robust earnings growth, sending its shares up 45 percent from a year ago and creating more than $51 billion in additional shareholder wealth.


Cisco's stock closed up 5 cents to $28.14 on Thursday before the acquisition was announced.

Introduction

This blog entry deals with my review of the Meizu MP6 from a "new information" point of view. What I outline below is information that adds to other's reviews of the Meizu MP6. I have put a list of references at the bottom to make learning more about the MP6 easier.

I received my new 8 Gbyte Meizu MP6 about three weeks ago. I have been thoroughly impressed with all the functions of the player. This player is packed with features, but the bottom line for me is sound quality. My entire collection of music is Q7 or higher Ogg Vorbis. {At Q6, you have lossless stereo coupling}. This is roughly comparable to 224 kb/sec MP3, however, it is ~25% smaller than a 224 kb/sec MP3.

The player itself feels nice and solid, with a definite eye toward quality. From the metal backing to the pre-installed protective coverings to the feel of the buttons, this player just speaks "solid" from the get go.

Why Meizu?

Of course, for me a player is useless if it doesn't also support Linux. The players that were in the running, the Cowon D2, Iriver Clix and Meizu MP3 (again OGG support with all three), all work as USB mass storage devices. For those who don't know, this is the true "Plays For Sure" version of an audio player. It shows up on your screen as a simple hard drive, and you can drag and drop music/videos/pictures to it, however, it is also easy to manage your music using MusicMatch or Winamp in Windows or Amarok in Linux. All of the above can be put into MTP mode if you purchase music online. Buying music infected with DRM is of no interest to me, however, they all support it.

What nailed it, after meeting my critical criteria is "Virtual 3D". If you have never heard a high quality song with expanded stereo/virtual 3D/etc you don't know what you are missing. This is not simply an equalizer setting but a way, through advanced digital signal processing, to cause a stereo track to literally come alive. The comparison of Virtual 3D to regular stereo is as stark as the difference between mono vs stereo. More on that later.

Overall Rating

4.5 Stars out of a possible 5. It lost a 1/4 of one point because it does not handle large play lists gracefully (i.e. 120 or more song play list). 1/4 of a point is lost because no player is ever perfect, even if it functions perfectly. I don't think this will be an iPod killer, simply because of the HUGE ecosystem of accessories, however, this player has never failed to make anyone who has a flash based iPod envious (the older non video capable Nano, Apple released the new Nano today that supports video). For the same money as the new Nano, you get superior sound quality, a bigger screen, 4 GBytes more storage and a player as refined as the iPod series. If you need or want the iTunes integration and are willing to spend more money, then iPod is for you. If you are looking for sound quality and capabilities, $ for $, this player beats any flash based iPod hands down.

There is no point in comparing this to an iPhone or an HD based iPod (or any MP3 phone, etc) because they are literally two different animals.

Sound Quality

The sound quality is phenomenal. I connect it to my home stereo through this FM Transmitter. It has replaced the DVD playing an MP3 DVD (and the pain to mass convert from Ogg to MP3), because of Virtual 3D.

I have never heard better from any portable player. The player comes with so many ways to customize your music that is actually a lot of fun just playing with settings. There are an abundance of pre-programmed equalizers, there is a bass boost setting (those of you old enough to remember will recognize this as the loudness button), treble boost and of course, Virtual 3D. There really is no way to describe it to do it justice. I have the setting on 3 and everyone who hears it on/off on my stereo just doesn't believe the sound difference. A final note, the low end bass on this thing is amazing. There is no other player I have ever encountered that can surpass this player in terms of quality and many (virtually any Ipod) it simply leaves in the dust.

Aside: There is no better FM transmitter, and using this modification you will get a range of about 150 feet circular. More than enough to cover a very large lot, allowing you to transmit to all your stereos, including the ratty pair of headphone radios I use when cutting the grass.

Another perk is the Headphone, Speaker, Earphones setting under "Spatializer" it is a one click option to change the acoustics to adapt to however you are listening the the player.

Video Quality

Video quality is amazingly clear. Converting into the desired AVI the player wants is desperatley easy with Linux (more below). The default of 366 kb/sec (to the max the player is 500), you get a picture that literally looks perfect. I may play with the maximum rate supported if I see any reason to. Since I travel a lot, and all of you know just how inconvenient it actually is watching a movie with your laptop on a plane, this player will come in very handy.

I think a couple of pictures are in order. These pictures do not do justice to the clarity and quality of the screen, but will demonstrate how great the screen is. What you see below are screenshots of almost actual size. When you click on them to expand them, keep in mind that these are pictures of a 2.4" screen blown up to 5 times it's original size. Seeing how clear the image is blown up to this size should give an idea of how good the screen is.

Capacity

I have upwards of 1400+ songs and 5 (about 250 MBytes/90 minutes) movies, about 40 Mbytes of pictures, and am approaching 7.5 GBytes. I could compress the pictures down, and reduce the default rate from 366 kbytes/sec, however, if the above is not enough to satisfy you in the interim you are away from your computer, you probably need a non flash HD based player anyway.

Issues I don't have with the player.

In doing research into this player, I came across posts and reviews of things that have obviously been fixed in the current version of the player. This list includes.

1) OGG tags (artist, album, etc), no problems at all.
2) Some seem to be under the impression that images must be 1024X1024 or less. I tested, and then left all pictures I put on the player at 2288x1712 from my 4 Mpixel camera, no trouble viewing the pictures.
3) Automatically rebuilds the library on computer disconnect. No need to update it manually

Playlists and the reason for 1/4 star lost

There seems to be a flaw in the logic on how the player reads playlists. For smaller playlists, (20 or less), there is no problem. I also have some large playlists (200+ songs) in broad categories like "Party Music", "Mellow", etc. (I used vi and Amarok to create these playlists, but that's another post, no I did not create using dynamic playlists on the player itself, lol )

When you enter a playlist, all the songs are listed, however, as soon as you center tap or select enter, the player appears to freeze. It has not frozen, however, it takes a full 3 minutes before the songs start playing. The playlist (next, random, etc) all work normally from this point on, and turning on/off is fine. As long as you don't leave this playlist, the problem never happens again. If, however, you leave and immediately come back to it, the same 3 minute wait happens. I suspect it is doing a complete "rebuild DB" behind the scenes any time you enter a playlist. Is this a heartache, not really. From the All Music, start a song, then go into the playlist, listen to the current song while the playlist "loads"

Managing the player. Amarok auto-detected it, and poof, installation complete. I did configure the player to add all music relative to /Music which is the default location. Amarok does a flawless job of adding by Artists, Album, etc relative to that. For Windows users, if using in USB mode, WinAmp (and I believe MusicMatch) operate the same way, it just works, allowing you to avoid Windows Media Player.

Hint: If Windows gives the option to manage using WMP and the player is in USB mass storage mode, DO NOT allow it. You will see the device, but drag and drop will fail with "an error occured" because you are not using MTP. Why it detects it when it won't work, who knows, but avoid WMP.

Video Conversion and Linux

This was a trivial task. I already knew how to use Cinelera to create the required format, and DVD:RIP for Linux and K3B make it easy to create AVI's from your DVDs into your computer. All it took to install the supplied Windows application was to click on the exe, (my computer has wine, it is the default application to open executables), select the Next->Next->Next with all the defaults and there it was, an icon on the desktop. [Ignore the error about registering a DLL for autoplay or some such during the install]

NOTE: For the technical, the movie is being transcoded both from/to the same external USB drive, making it convert at a lowly 40 frames/second (~2 times normal speed), hence the performance hit.

General Customization.

There is simply too much to list.
You can edit any menu item to add/remove any options.

The Windows Shutdown crapfest

I worked at Microsoft for about 7 years total, from 1994 to 1998, and from 2002 to 2006.

The most frustrating year of those seven was the year I spent working on Windows Vista, which was called Longhorn at the time. I spent a full year working on a feature which should've been designed, implemented and tested in a week. To my happy surprise (where "happy" is the freude in schadenfreude), Joel Spolsky wrote an article about my feature.

I would like to try to explain how this happened.

I worked on the "Windows Mobile PC User Experience" team. This team was part of Longhorn from a feature standpoint but was organizationally part of the Tablet PC group. To find a common manager to other people I needed to work with required walking 6 or 7 steps up the org chart from me.

My team's raison d'etre was: improve the experience for users on laptops, notebooks and ultra-mobile PCs. Noble enough. Of course the Windows Shell team, whose code I needed to muck about in to accomplish my tiny piece of this, had a charter of their own which may or may not have intersected ours.

My team had a very talented UI designer and my particular feature had a good, headstrong program manager with strong ideas about user experience. We had a Mac [owned personally by a team member] that we looked to as a paragon of clean UI. Of course the Shell team also had some great UI designers and numerous good, headstrong PMs who valued (I can only assume) simplicity and so on. Perhaps they had a Mac too.

In addition to our excellent UI designer and good headstrong program manager, we had a user-assistance expert, a team of testers, a few layers of management, and me, writing code.

So just on my team, these are the people who came to every single planning meeting about this feature:

These planning meetings happened every week, for the entire year I worked on Windows.

In addition to the above, we had dependencies on the shell team (the guys who wrote, designed and tested the rest of the Start menu), and on the kernel team (who promised to deliver functionality to make our shutdown UI as clean and simple as we wanted it). The relevant part of the shell team was about the same size as our team, as was the relevant part of kernel team.

So that nets us an estimate -- to pull a number out of the air -- of 24 people involved in this feature. Also each team was separated by 6 layers of management from the leads, so let's add them in too, giving us 24 + (6 * 3) + 1 (the shared manager) 43 total people with a voice in this feature. Twenty-four of them were connected sorta closely to the code, and of those twenty four there were exactly zero with final say in how the feature worked. Somewhere in those other 19 was somebody who did have final say but who that was I have no idea since when I left the team -- after a year -- there was still no decision about exactly how this feature would work.

By the way "feature" is much too strong a word; a better description would be "menu". Really. By the time I left the team the total code that I'd written for this "feature" was a couple hundred lines, tops. [edit: note that that are tons of other more complicated features that support this menu, like the control panel, the additional kernel work, etc., whose code was huge compared to mine. Note also that these features weren't, by a long shot, the only thing all these people were working on]

But here's how the design process worked: approximately every 4 weeks, at our weekly meeting, our PM would say, "the shell team disagrees with how this looks/feels/works" and/or "the kernel team has decided to include/not include some functionality which lets us/prevents us from doing this particular thing". And then in our weekly meeting we'd spent approximately 90 minutes discussing how our feature -- er, menu -- should look based on this "new" information. Then at our next weekly meeting we'd spend another 90 minutes arguing about the design, then at the next weekly meeting we'd do the same, and at the next weekly meeting we'd agree on something... just in time to get some other missing piece of information from the shell or kernel team, and start the whole process again.

I'd also like to sketch out how actual coding works on the Windows team.

In small programming projects, there's a central repository of code. Builds are produced, generally daily, from this central repository. Programmers add their changes to this central repository as they go, so the daily build is a pretty good snapshot of the current state of the product.

In Windows, this model breaks down simply because there are far too many developers to access one central repository. So Windows has a tree of repositories: developers check in to the nodes, and periodically the changes in the nodes are integrated up one level in the hierarchy. At a different periodicity, changes are integrated down the tree from the root to the nodes. In Windows, the node I was working on was 4 levels removed from the root. The periodicity of integration decayed exponentially and unpredictably as you approached the root so it ended up that it took between 1 and 3 months for my code to get to the root node, and some multiple of that for it to reach the other nodes. It should be noted too that the only common ancestor that my team, the shell team, and the kernel team shared was the root.

So in addition to the above problems with decision-making, each team had no idea what the other team was actually doing until it had been done for weeks.

The end result of all this is what finally shipped: the lowest common denominator, the simplest and least controversial option.

I have no idea how much of the rest of Vista ended up like this. I think (indeed hope) my team was a pathological case; unfortunately it's a visible one.

Testosteronun dihidrotestosterona dönüşümünü sağlayan enzim redüktaz enzimi olup, muhtemelen erkek tipi saç dökülmesinden birincil olarak sorumludur. Günümüzde erkeklerin en önemli kozmetik problemi olan erkek tipi saç dökülmesi nin önlenmesi veya giderilmesi ile ilgili araştırmalar insanlık tarihi kadar eskidir. Piyasada yüzlerce bitki ve yosun ekstrelerinden hazırlanan çeşitli losyon, şampuan ve haricen kullanılan karışımların yaygın olarak kullanıldığı erkek tipi saç dökülmelerinde etkinliği bilimsel olarak gösterilebilmiş sadece iki preparat mevcuttur. Son yıllarda geliştirilen ve erkek tipi saç dökülmelerinde oldukça etkili olduğu bildirilen bir diğer ajan ise finasterid etken maddeli ağız yoluyla alınan bir ilaçtır.Tip II -redüktaz enzimini inhibe ederek, testosteronun dihidrotestosterona dönüşmesini engelleyerek serum ve saçlı derideki dihidrotestosteron düzeyini azaltır. Günlük 1 mg. dozda finasterid'in 2 yıldan uzun süren klinik çalışmalarda saç dökülmesini durdurduğu veya yavaşlattığı ve saç büyümesini arttırdığı gözlenmiştir. Tedaviye başlandıktan itibaren 3. ayda iyileşmenin gözlendiği ilaç tedavisi sırasında yapılan çalışmalarda ciddi bir yan etki oluşmadığı bildirilmektedir. Tedavi sırasında %1-2 oranında ortaya çıkabilecek cinsel isteksizlik, erektil disfonksiyon ve ejekülat volumünün azalması dışında yan etki gözlenmemekte ve istenmeyen tüm etkilerin geri dönüşümlü olduğu vurgulanmaktadır. Finasterid gebe ve gebe olma olasılığı olan kadınlarda kontrendikedir. Ayrıca yapılan çalışmalar finasteridin erkek tipi saç dökülmesi olan postmenapozal kadınlarda etkisiz olduğunu göstermiştir

Kronik Böbrek Yetmezliğinde Deri Problemleri

Deri ile ilgili yakınmalar pek çok iç organ hastalıklarının tanısında hekime kolaylık sağlar. Özellikle böbrek hastalıklarında deri bulguları tam anlamıyla bir rehberdir. Kronik böbrek yetmezliği (KBY) olan hastalarda, böbreklerden tam olarak atılamayan zararlı maddeler deride bazı problemlere neden olurlar. Ayrıca bu hastaların tedavilerinde kullanılan ilaçlara bağlı olarak birtakım deri yakınmaları gözlenir.

Kronik böbrek yetmezliğinde gözlenen deri belirtileri:
1. Renk değişiklikleri: Solukluk, gri-sarı veya kahverengi renk değişimine çok sık rastlanmaktadır (yaklaşık %70 oranında). Solukluk kansızlığa bağlı olarak ortaya çıkar. Deride sarı renkli bir pigment olan ürokrom birikimine bağlı gri-sarı renk değişikliği izlenebilir. Ayrıca güneş gören bölgelerde derideki koyu renkli bir pigment olan melanin oluşumunu arttıran bir hormonun etkisiyle yaygın kahverengi renk değişikliği olur.

2. Kaşıntı: KBY; kaşıntının en sık rastlanılan iç organlarla ilgili nedenidir. Bu hastaların %15-49'unda kaşıntı vardır. Diyalize giren hastaların %50-90'lnda tedavi başlangıcından sonra 6 ay içinde kaşıntı ortaya çıkar. Bunların % 65'inde kaşıntı süreklidir. Üremik kaşıntı genellikle yaygın, tedaviye dirençli ve şiddetlidir. Diyalizin kendisine bağlı kaşıntı ise ataklar halindedir, hafif ve bölgesel olabilir (kateter bölgesi, yüz veya bacaklar gibi). Etkili diyaliz her zaman kaşıntıyı düzeltmez. KBY ve üremide kaşıntının birçok sebebi vardır. Kuruluk, ter bezlerinin küçülmesi, sekonder hiperparatiroidizm, artmış serum histamin düzeyleri, hipervitaminoz A, demir eksikliği anemisi, nöropati suçlanmaktadır. Ancak böbrek naklinden sonra kaşıntının kaybolması ve akut böbrek yetmezliğinde görülmeyip kronik yetmezlikte görülmesi, neden olarak atılamayan zararlı maddelerin etkisini düşündürmektedir. Serum üre ve kreatinin düzeyleri ile kaşıntı arasında zayıf bir ilişki vardır.

Kaşıntının kontrol altına alınmasında sistematik yaklaşım önerilir:

· Diyaliz en iyi şekilde kullanılmalıdır. Kaşıntıya neden olan maddelerin atılımına bağlı olarak, diyaliz geçici bir rahatlama sağlar.
· Etilenoksit duyarlılığı olan hastalar belirlenmelidir. D Diyet kısıtlamaları ve fosfat bağlayıcı tedavi kullanımı teşvik edilmelidir.
· Kansızlık tedavi edilmelidir (eritropoietin tedavisi).
· Kuruluk varsa birlikte nemlendirici ve yumuşatıcılar kullanılmalıdır.
· Antihistaminikler veya ketotifen (2mg oral, günde 2 kez) kullanılabilir.
· Kaşıntı devam ederse UVB (ultraviolet B ışığı) tedavisi fayda sağlayabilir.
· Dirençli durumlarda; oral aktif kömür, kolestiramin, naloksan, meksiletin, intravenöz lidokain gibi tedavi seçenekleri kullanılabilir.
· Çok dirençli durumlarda UVB + kolestiramin veya UVB + aktif kömür kombinasyonları denenebilir.
· Türkiye'de bulunmayan topikal anestezikler (pramoxine) ve topikal capsaicin yararlı olabilir.

3. Kuruluk: Kronik böbrek yetmezlikli hastaların çoğunda görülür ve çeşitli derecelerdedir. Neden geliştiği tam olarak anlaşılamamıştır. Ter ve yağ bezlerinde küçülmelerin gösterildiği çok, sayıda çalışmalar vardır. Nemlendirici ve yumuşatıcıların kullanımı ile kuruluğa bağlı kaşıntılar azaltılabilir, ancak kuruluğun kendisinin tedavisi zordur.

4. Kireçlenmeler: Kronik böbrek yetmezlikli hastalarda kalsiyum, deri altında kollajen lifler etrafında ve deri ekleri etrafında birikerek deri altında sertlikler yapar.

5. Hücresel bağışıklığın bozulmasına bağlı bulgular: Bu bulgular hastalığının kendisine bağlı ortaya çıkabilir. Ancak özellikle transplant alıcılarında (nakil hastalarında) bağışıklık sistemini baskılayıcı ilaç kullanımı enfeksiyon ve kanserlerin oluşumunu tetikler. Bu grupta gelişen enfeksiyonlar tüm alıcılarda tedaviden bağımsız ve izlem süresi boyunca gelişebilir.

-Bakteriyel enfeksiyonlar: Kıl kökü enfeksiyonları (follikülit, fronkül), fistül çevresinde abseler.
-Viral enfeksiyonlar: Herpes simpleks (uçuk) , herpes zoster (zona, gece yanığı) , verrüler (siğiller).
-Mantar enfeksiyonları: Onikomikoz (tırnak mantarı) , Kandidiyazis (maya mantarı enfeksiyonu), tinea versikolor (samyeli)

6. Deri kanserleri: Özellikle nakil hastalarında deri kanseri gelişme riski oldukça yüksektir. Çok çeşitli deri kanserleri ortaya Çıkabilir. Deride meydana gelen kırmızı-morumsu kabarıklıklar, güneş gören yerlerde ve genital bölgelerde oluşan kırmızı, kepekli yama şeklinde lezyonlar, herhangi bir ben üzerinde oluşan kaşıntı, büyüme, kanama, renk değişikliği ve şekildeki düzensizlik gibi bulgular hekime başvurmayı gerektirir.

7. Deri eklerinde değişiklikler: 'Tırnak bozuklukları: 'Half and half nail' denilen ve üremi için oldukça özgül olan bu bulguda tırnağın yarısında kırmızı ve kahverengi, basmakla solmayan renk değişikliği olur.

'Terleme bozuklukları: Ter bezlerinde küçülme nedeniyle kuruluk ve ter içinde yüksek üre miktarının deriye çökmesiyle 'üremik frost' denilen durum ortaya çıkar.
Saç dökülmesi:Atılamayan zararlı maddelerin etkisi, anemi ve yetersiz beslenme nedeniyle saç dökülmesi ve saçlarda matlaşma görülür. Tedavi nedene yönelik yapılmalıdır. Gerektiğinde vitamin ve demir desteği olumlu sonuç verebilir.

8. Diğer deri problemleri:
Temas alleriisi: Nikel (iğne), ve deriye sürülen krem, merhem ve solüsyon gibi maddelere bağlı olarak temas bölgelerinde kızarıklık, kaşıntı ve pullanmalar görülür.

9. İlaçlara bağlı etkiler: Transplant alıcılarında gözlenen deri problemleri, çoğunlukla bağışıklık sistemini baskılayan ilaçlar ve kortizon tedavileri ile ilişkilidir. Bu ilaçların kullanımına bağlı olarak derinin özellikle üst tabakalarında değişiklikler olur, ayrıca bağışıklık sisteminin baskılanması nedeniyle viral ve bakteriyel enfeksiyonların sıklıkları artar. Klinik değişiklikler, steroid yan etkilerine benzer ve nakil sonrası 10 yıl içinde görülme oranı yüksektir.

Aydede yüzü, yüzde kızarıklık, 'buffalo hörgücü', deride yırtılmalar, morluklar, deride incelme, deri kuruluğu, sivilce gibi bulgular izlenir. A vitaminin deriye uygulanabilir formu olan topikal retinoik asitler kortikosteroidlerin deride incelme yapıcı etkilerini azaltırlar.
Siklosporine bağlı kıllanma artışı, saçlarda dökülme, diş etlerinde büyüme, deri renginde koyulaşma görülebilir.
Azatiopürin ve takrolimus saç dökülmesi yapabilir.

NE YAPMALI?
1. Deride kuruluğu artıran ve deriyi tahriş edebilecek faktörlerden sakınmak:

Çok sıcak ve çok soğuk ortamlarda bulunmamak.
Ilık su ile ve kısa süre banyo yapmak.
Deriyi daha az tahriş eden sabunların kullanılması (Dove, Sebamed, Neutrogena, Eubos gibi).
Yünlü ve sentetik giysilerin direkt vücuda temas etmemesini sağlamak.

2. Nemlendirici ve yumuşatıcılar kullanmak (banyo sırasında ve banyo sonrasında) :
Bu amaçla üreli ve laktik asit içeren nemlendiriciler yararlı olabilir. Özellikle banyo sonrası hafif nemli deriye uygulandıklarında nemi hapsetme özelliğine sahiptirler.

Peritonitin mümkün olduğunca azaltılması için dializ torba değişimlerinin kurallara uygun yapılması gereklidir. Peritonit periton sıvısının bulanıklaşması, karın ağrısı, karında hassasiyet, bulantı, kusma, ateş, titreme ve kanda lökosit artışına neden olabilir. Ayrıca uzun süreli Ayaktan Devamlı Periton Diyalizi tedavisinde dializatla sıvı ve atık maddelerin vücuttan uzaklaştırılmasında yetersizlik oluşabilir.

Bir çok hasta Ayaktan Devamlı Periton Diyalizi ile 5-10 yıl başarıyla tedavi edilebilir. Ayaktan Devamlı Periton Diyalizi hastalarının dializatla protein kaybetmeleri nedeniyle daha fazla protein almalarına izin verilir. Its taken a bit of time to work this one out but with a few simple steps you can capture geotagged photographs on your Nokia N95, upload to Flickr and then add them to Google's My Maps.

The process is simple:

Initial Set Up

1) First off go to ShoZu.com - Shozu is freely available software that allows you to both geotag photographs on your N95 and upload to a number of online services, in our case Flickr.

Sign up with the site and select the Nokia N93 as your phone (the N95 is not yet listed). You will be asked to set up a user name and password as well as your mobile number. Once registered ShoZu will send a text along with a link to download the software. We downloaded via a Wi-Fi link to make sure we didn't incur any phone charges;

2) Install ShoZu on your N95 and login to your account using the username and password you set up. This will authenticate your account allowing you to log back into the web based service and set up a number of destinations to upload your photographs;

3) To enable uploading to Flickr go to the web page and selecting the 'Share It' tag. Now simply go through the process of allowing ShoZu the required rights to upload to your account.

This completes the set up ShoZu in terms of services, we now simply need to turn on GPS tagging;

4) Open ShoZu on your N95 and go to: Options/View and then the images tag which is indicated by a film strip icon. The 4th option is GPS Tagging, switch this to On.

Capturing and Uploading

1) Open either Nokias 'Maps' or the 'Sports Tracker' application and make sure you are getting a GPS fix, we use Sports Tracker as it allows us to additionally upload our route to Google Earth/Maps;

2) Start taking your pictures, with ShoZu installed each photograph will have a location tag written into its EXIF information.

3) Open ShoZu and select Share-It/All files, this will display a list of your photographs. Select the image your want to upload and click Options, this displays the choice to Send to Flickr. Select send and your image will be uploaded, again we uploaded via Wi-Fi to minimise any data charges.


Your images will now be available on your Flickr page and automatically geotagged. Within Flickr you can choose to view by map which opens a Yahoo Map page, we prefer Googles My Maps options:


1) At the bottom of your Flickr Photos page you will see a RSS Feed Icon and the Feed link - Right click on this link and copy the link location;

2) Login into your Google Maps account and paste the feed location into the search box - now add the following to the end of the paste '&georss=true' (without the ')

3) Running the search will display your photographs from the N95 on Google Maps via Flickr, to add them to My Maps simple click on each icon and choose 'Save to My Maps'

Hi,
I have seen that a lot of people on various forums/blogs are in need of a guide showing how to debrand the Nokia N95.

Therefore I thought I would provide one. The information that I have collated to make this guide is found on various sites, these are referenced at the bottom of the post. Please also note that you run this procedure at your own risk; although I have performed this (3 times) with perfect results there is always the possibility when flashing your phone that you may damage it. If this happens you will require a Nokia service Centre to restore it.

The Guide:
1. Ensure that you have installed the Nokia PC Suite (on the CD supplied with the phone), make sure that your phone is connected via the USB cable and that it has been detected.

2. Download the following 2 pieces of software:

• Nemesis Service Suite - Direct download link

• The Nokia Software Updater - Note, although at the time of writing the site does not list the N95, the updater does include the updated N95 firmwear. Therefore simply select the N93 instead, this will then allow you do download the updater.

3. Install Nemesis Service Suite. Open the program and then click the "Scan for new Device" icon in the top right of the screen. The screen should then be filled with information, click the "Phone Info" button at the top of the screen. Then click the "Read" button. Amongst other things this will show you the current product code of your phone. You now need to change this to a generic Nokia code. A standard code for the UK that you can use is 0534841, for a full list of codes see The Nokia Blog. Replace the current product code with this new code. Then check the enable box and click the "Write button". You have now changed your phones product code! You can double check this by clicking the read button again, this should show your new product code.

4. You may at this stage wish to back up you contacts/files to carry over to the unbranded phone, to do this use Backup utility within the Nokia PC Suite.

5. You now just have to install the new firmware update. Make sure that you phone is connected to you computer through the USB cable and then open the Nokia Software Updater that you previously downloaded. Follow the step by step instructions and install the new firmwear. Do not at any time disconnect the phone until it tells you that it is safe to do so. Note the phone will restart itself during the update process.

6. That's it, you phone has now been debranded! You can now restore your files/contacts by going back into the Backup utility, however I suggest that you do not restore settings to the phone as this puts back some annoying operator defaults such has changed menu layouts.

7. If you wish to update your phones firmwear in the future you simply need to use the Nokia Updater as usual as your phones product code will not need changing again.

I hope that this is useful, if you have any criticisms or suggestions please do leave suggestions and I will adjust the guide accordingly. In addition if anybody thinks that screen shots would be useful then let me know and I will upload them.

Web sitenizi yaptıktan (veya yaptırttıktan) sonra, Internet ortamındaki tanıtım ve diğer çalışmalarınız ile ilgili ilk adımı atmış oluyorsunuz. Ancak, sadece web sitenizin üretilerek, Internet üzerinde yer almaya başlaması, bu konuda yapabileceklerinizin çok küçük bir parçasını oluşturuyor.

Web siteleri, mevcut müşterilerinize verdiğiniz hizmet kalitesini yükseltmede, operasyonel maliyetlerinizi düşürmede önemli rol oynamaktalar. Ama aynı zamanda, yeni müşteri kazanmanız için de önemli bir tanıtım ve satış kanalı fonskiyonuna sahipler. Reklam yolu ile web sitenizin duyurusunu gerçekleştirmek ve trafik yaratmak, işin en kolay yolu olacaktır. Ancak, bu yöntem aynı zamanda en pahalı ve geçici yöntem olma özelliği de taşıyacaktır. Reklam için ayırdığınız kaynaklar tükendiğinde, web trafiğinize de veda etmek zorunda kalacaksınız. Üstelik, muhtemelen reklama ayırdığınız yatırım, sizin yatırımınızın geri dönüşünü sağlayacak bir trafiği sağlamayacaktır. En azından, bu yatırımı geri alamama riskiniz çok yüksek olacaktır. Sitenin konusuna ve hedef kitlesine göre değişmekle birlikte, bu sayılar, potansiyel müşterilerimizin çoğunun bize bu yolla ulaştığının önemli bir göstergesi.

Sistem nasıl çalışıyor?
Google v.b. arama motorları, kendi aralarında ufak değişiklikler gösterseler de, temelde web sitenizi belli kriterlere göre değerlendirerek, sayfalarınızda yer alan kelimelerle arama yapıldığında sonuçlarında gösterilecek şekilde indeksliyorlar. Web sitenizin arama motorlarında yer almasını nasıl sağlayacaksınız?
Web siteniz, bazı durumlarda siz hiç bir şey yapmasanız bile çoğu arama motoru tarafından indekslenecektir. Ancak, bunun tam tersi bir durum da söz konusu olabilecektir, yani eğer siz bu konuda bazı temel kriterlere dikkat etmezseniz, sitenizin çok az veya hiç indekslenmemesi söz konusu olabilecektir. Bu çok dramatik bir durumu ortaya koymakta; eğer web siteniz, hedef kitlenizin arama yaptığı kelime sonuçlarında ilk 3 sayfa içinde değilse, iş yapma ihtimaliniz inanılmaz derecede düşmekte.

Nasıl ilk 3 sayfaya gireceksiniz?
Arama motoru sonuçlarında ilk 3 sayfaya girmek, çok şanslı durumlarda kendiliğinden de olabilecektir. Ama, eğer bu konuda sistemsel bir yaklaşım belirleyecekseniz, web sitenizin, müşterilerinizin ilgi alanlarına göre arama motoru sonuçlarında yer almasını sağlayacak şekilde düzenlenmesi gerekecektir. Günümüzde bu konu ayrı bir uzmanlık alanı olmuş durumda. Bir çok SEO (Search Engine Optimization) profesyoneli bu alanda hizmet vermekte, ucuz/pahalı bu amaca yönelik bir çok yazılım pazarlanmakta.

Arama Motoru SPAM'ine karşı dikkat!
Arama motoru optimizasyonu çalışmalarınız için, kendiniz bu konuyu araştırabileceğiniz gibi, bir profesyonelin yardımını da başvurabilirsiniz. Eğer bu konuda yeteneğiniz ve bilginiz varsa, yardımcı yazılımlarla da işinizi kolaylaştırabilirsiniz. Ancak bu çalışmaları yaparken, şunu unutmamanız gerekmekte; Google gibi arama motorları, günümüzde çok gelişmiş algoritmalar kullanarak web sitelerinin içeriğini değerlendirmekte ve indekslemekte.
