ZappTek on Tuesday announced the release of iPDA v3.4, a new version of the software that helps extends your iPod's capabilities as a replacement PDA. A free update for existing users, iPDA costs US$19.95 to register.

IPDA enables you to transfer Word, PDF, Pages and RTF documents to your iPod, download RSS feeds, driving directions, weather forecasts and news headlines. The software works in conjunction with Microsoft Entourage, Stickies, Apple Mail, Address Book and iCal.

IPDA 3.4 lets you download your Gmail conversations and contacts directly to your iPod, and now includes notes from the Stickies Dashboard widget. Full compatibility is provided for Pages '08, and directions support has been improved for international users. The feed button icon is now the standard RSS icon, and minor bug fixes have been made for RSS feeds, directions and sync error handling.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 or later and an iPod.
